Privacy Policy for Bike Computer
Applies to the Bike Computer app for Android (package no.ludde.android.bikecomputer). Last updated: 25 September 2026.
Your privacy is important to Nordicsoft AS, and we design our services with privacy in mind. This policy explains what information Bike Computer collects, how it is used, and when it leaves your device.
1. Information stored on your device
- You can register personal details such as name, date of birth, gender, height, weight, maximum heart rate and VO2 max. This information is stored only inside the app on your device.
- While recording a ride, the app collects and stores location and workout data — for example GPS position, speed, distance, elevation, heart rate, cadence, power and temperature. This data is stored locally on your device.
- The app can keep recording in the background, also when the screen is turned off. While recording, a status notification is shown.
- Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the app's data from your device.
Bike Computer does not require a user account, and Nordicsoft AS does not store your personal ride data on its servers.
2. Information sent from your device
To operate and to improve the app, some information is processed by trusted service providers:
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — usage statistics and diagnostics, for example that the app was opened and which features were used. We use this to understand how the app is used and to improve it, and it is not used to identify you personally. See the Firebase privacy and security page and the Google privacy policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — if the app crashes or misbehaves, a report is sent with technical details such as device model, Android version, app state and log data, so that we can find and fix the problem. See the Firebase privacy and security page.
- Maps — map views and map images use the Google Maps SDK and OpenStreetMap data. Showing a map involves sending technical information such as your IP address and the map area being viewed to these providers. See the Google privacy policy and the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Strava (optional) — if you connect Strava and upload a ride, the data you upload (including location and heart rate) is published to your Strava account and handled under Strava's privacy policy. Uploads only happen when you choose to upload, and you can disconnect Strava at any time in the app.
We do not sell your personal data, and we only share it with the providers listed above.
3. App permissions
- Location (including background location) — to record rides and show your position on the map. Background location is only used while a ride is being recorded.
- Bluetooth — to connect to heart-rate, speed, cadence and power sensors, and to smart trainers.
- Activity recognition — to detect movement and activity while riding.
- Notifications — to show the recording status while the app runs in the background.
- Storage (Android 12 and older) — to save ride files (FIT/GPX) that you export.
4. Advertising
The app does not display advertisements, and your data is not used for advertising.
5. Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because your personal details and workout data are stored on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app — edit or delete your data, or uninstall the app. For any other request, contact us at bikecomputer@nordicsoft.com.
